Important
This is not medical advice.
We help you organise your first year and know what to ask. We do not diagnose, treat, or stand in for the people who are qualified to.

If this is an emergency, stop reading and get help.
In the United States, call 911 for a medical emergency. For mental-health crisis support, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), available 24/7. If you are worried about your baby right now, call your pediatrician or go to an emergency department. Do not wait to read anything here first, and do not let this product delay you.
What this product is
FIRST YEAR, FIGURED OUT. is an educational and organisational tool. It helps you keep track of what is happening, understand what is typically expected at a given stage, prepare for appointments, handle paperwork, and recognise when something warrants a professional’s attention.
What it is not
- It is not medical advice and does not create a clinician–patient relationship.
- It does not diagnose anything, in you or your baby.
- It is not a substitute for your OB/GYN, midwife, pediatrician, lactation consultant, therapist, or any other qualified professional.
- It is not an emergency service and nobody is monitoring what you enter. Writing something down here does not alert anyone.
- It does not interpret your logs clinically. The tracker records what you tell it. It will not tell you that a number of feeds, a weight, or a sleep pattern is normal or abnormal — that judgement belongs to someone who can examine your baby.
Always defer to your clinician
Your doctor, midwife and pediatrician know you and your baby. This product does not. Where anything here differs from what they have told you, follow them, not us. The same goes for anything specific to a medical condition, a medication, a premature or high-risk birth, a multiple birth, or any circumstance a general resource cannot account for.
About our sources
Health-related content draws on authoritative public sources, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and state and federal government publications. Where a specific claim comes from a specific source, we name it.
Guidance changes. Content may not reflect the most recent revision of a guideline at the moment you read it, and your clinician’s current advice supersedes anything written here.
What we have not done
This content has not been reviewed by a licensed clinician.
We will not claim otherwise. We do not employ medical experts, we have not commissioned a medical review, and we have not been endorsed or certified by any professional body. If and when parts of this product receive qualified clinical review, we will say which parts, by whom, and when — specifically, not vaguely.
We would rather lose a sale than imply a credential we do not have.
Mental health
Postpartum mental health is covered in this product because ignoring it would be worse. What we offer is practical, non-diagnostic support and clear pointers to real help. We cannot assess you, and we will not try.
If you are struggling, that is a reason to talk to your OB/GYN, midwife or doctor — not a reason to wait and see. In the US, the Maternal Mental Health Hotline is 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262), free and available 24/7. For crisis support, call or text 988.
US-specific information
Content about insurance, leave, benefits and government programmes is general information, not legal, tax or insurance advice. Federal and state rules differ, and state rules change. We label which is which and point to primary sources, but you must confirm anything that affects a deadline or a benefit with the relevant agency, your employer or your insurer.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for decisions about your health and your baby’s health. Use this product as what it is: a way to stay organised and ask better questions of the people who can actually examine you both.
