Terms, in plain language.
These are the rules for using the product. We have tried to write them so you could actually read them.

Who we are
FIRST YEAR, FIGURED OUT. (“we”, “us”) provides this website and product. You can reach us at support@firstyearfiguredout.com.
What you are buying
A one-time purchase of $29 gives you access to the product for personal use, including updates we release during your first year with it. It is not a subscription, and you will not be charged again.
Access is granted by a proof-of-purchase token stored on your device. There is no account and no password. If you change devices, use restore access with the email you paid with.
This is not medical advice
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it has its own: medical disclaimer. In short: the product is educational and organisational, it does not diagnose or treat anything, it does not replace your clinicians, and it is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.
Your data
Your baby’s and your own information stays on your device. We do not hold it and cannot recover it for you. You are responsible for keeping your own backups using the Export feature. See our privacy page, including the honest limitations of local storage.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive your card details. Prices are in US dollars. The price shown at checkout is the price charged — if those ever disagree, our system refuses the payment rather than charging you.
Refunds
Full refund within 30 days, no reason required. The details are on the refunds page.
What you may do
- Use the product for yourself and your family.
- Print or save content for your own use.
- Show it to a friend, a partner, or your mother.
What you may not do
- Republish, resell or redistribute the content as your own, or as part of another product.
- Share your access with the general public.
- Scrape the site or use it to train a model for commercial purposes.
- Attempt to break, overload or circumvent the payment system.
The content and design remain ours. Anything you write in the product is yours entirely — we never see it.
Availability
We aim to keep the site up, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Because your data is local, the app’s core keeps working offline even when our site does not.
If we ever have to shut the product down, we will give notice and make sure you can export everything you have entered.
Limits on our liability
The product is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made in reliance on educational content — which is precisely why we are so insistent that health decisions go through your clinician.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing excludes liability for fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will update the date at the top and note what changed. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business, without affecting consumer rights you hold where you live.
